2022: Year in Review

2022 began with the continuation of smaller, intimate affairs due to the pandemic. As the year progressed, we saw the return of “normal” weddings, with larger guest counts and the removal of restrictions. Although it’s been amazing to see couples back to celebrating with everyone they love, I’ll remember those small weddings as some of the most meaningful (albeit challenging!) of my career.

In early February, we kicked off our season with Stephanie & Sebastien’s wedding at the Ancaster Mill. Stephanie wore a dress with the most gorgeous skirt, featuring shades of blue and orange. The dress was a major inspiration for the reception decor, which featured beautiful blue velvet linens, textural florals and winter fruits.

In early May, Ioana & Colin said their I do’s at the beautiful Cambium Farms. Their ceremony took place in the century old barn, while they welcomed guests into their reception in The Byre – an intimate, elegant event space comprised of a white-washed field stone walls, exposed timber columns and beams.

Both talented musicians, the couple treated guests to some acoustic tunes – such a memorable part of the evening.

June kicked off our Summer season, and it was a busy month for our team!

A highlight was Casey & Corey’s wedding at Earth to Table Farm, which we planned together for a year.

As luck would have it, heavy rains were forecast for their wedding day, meaning we would be going forward with the plan B ceremony. A backup chuppah we could use indoors was secured months earlier in the event of this very scenario, so the change could be made with little stress for all involved.

Suffice to say, plan B may have even turned out more beautifully than the original!

Mara & Tyler’s wedding in July was a LONG time coming. Postponed twice due to Covid, the third time was the charm.

The design aesthetic was modern and neutral, with The Walper Hotel as the perfect backdrop and I absolutely loved how this wedding turned out!

Jess & Aaron said their I do’s on the most beautiful day in mid-August at Glencairn Golf Club in Milton – fitting as the groom is a golf pro.

Taylor & Tyler’s wedding was our first time working at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club – and it did not disappoint! Overlooking Toronto’s city skyscape across the tranquil waters of the Harbour, the historic Clubhouse provided endless charm.

Our final event of the year was Jenny & Scott’s early December wedding at The Berkeley Church – a perfect fit for their gorgeous vintage-inspired affair.

And with that, our 2022 wedding season comes to a close. We were part of some of the most beautiful celebrations with truly the kindest, down to earth couples this year. Can’t wait to bring some big, beautiful visions to life in 2023 for our 10th wedding season!
